Dialogic’s enterprise session border controllers enable the secure connection of SIP trunks from traditional carriers, Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs), or Cable Operators to enterprises with either IP-PBXs or traditional TDM PBXs. As enterprises transition to VoIP for their long distance and trunking services traditional telephony providers look for solutions to maintain their revenue streams through the transition. A significant part of the story is the transition from traditional PSTN trunks to SIP trunks. In order to deploy an effective SIP trunking solution, security is required at the enterprise network edge. Dialogic has a series of enterprise session border control products, Dialogic® BorderNet™ 500 Gateways (BN500 Gateways), to provide this network edge security and interoperability function.
While SIP trunking provides an opportunity for the traditional telephony providers to maintain their revenue streams, it also opens up that market to non-traditional telephony providers such as the cable operators. Dialogic participated in a CableLabs SIP Trunking event where several equipment providers brought their equipment to be tested in a simulated cable network. The BN500 Gateways performed very well connecting a variety of application severs to IP-PBXs over the cable network SIP trunks. Watch for additional information on enterprise session border controllers enabling SIP trunking for cable operators.
