Hopefully by now you’ve registered and blocked off your calendar for next week Wednesday’s TADMeetup in Parsippany, NJ. If not, let this be a friendly reminder that we’ll be gathering at the Dialogic offices (1515 Route 10, Parsippany, NJ 07054) for some live demos around the theme of WebRTC. Be sure to register for the meetup so we have plenty of food.

For those of you that need a bit more persuasion let this serve as a technical-teaser to some of the content we’ll be showing. In last week’s blog, I mentioned one of the live demonstrations being a flexible multi-party conferencing with a WebRTC multipoint control unit (MCU), but what does “flexible” mean?

First off, PowerMedia XMS optimizes performance by mixing all parties into a single, synchronized downstream to limit client bandwidth and processing requirements. This is optimal but not flexible as each client receiving the downstream is exactly same layout including their own reflection stream. Dialogic partnered with Priologic the creator of the popular open-source EasyRTC node.js-based WebRTC platform to create a special EasyRTC JavaScript client that uses the HTML5 canvas to decompose this single multi-party stream into individual attendees on the client-side, giving the UX developer complete control over how each participant is shown. Now each client has the flexibility to modify how the downstream video is viewed as they wish.

There is plenty more to discuss at next week’s meetup - I hope you are able to make it. If you are still unable to attend, but still want to learn more, stay tuned for my recap of the TADMeetup or contact me directly at vincent.puglia@dialogic.com.

Hope to see you there!
