why we have to restart DSI after network switch is powered off for a while

  • network operation requires reset of the switch to which the SIGTRAN cable is connected. after the switch came up again, the association still down till reset of DSI from server side. is that normal??

  • This should not be the case. What type of switch are you connected to? Do you know what caused the association to fail in the first place?

  • there was operation on switches and they were powered off (planned operation).

when the switches came up again the association didn't came up till doing restart for gctload.

is there a timer or specific number of retries to re-initialize association before ignoring it?

if yes, i need to know the default time and number of retries....
