64 bit version of dev_GetLicFeatureData fails

  • Hello,

Found that dev_GetLicFeatureData compiled under 64 bit environment (MSVC 2015) fails returning “-1” and empty LIC_FEATURE_BLK structure. 32 bit version of this function works normally.

  • Hi,

What HMP 3.0 SU was this? I believe there were a few APIs not done in the implementation. Albeit, I seem to recall that was addressed already. Did you try the latest build (387)?

    Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,

Yes it is SU387 and this issue still persists.

  • BTW

Do you plan to move the fax library to 64 bit?

  • Hi,

Going back to dev_GetLicFeatureData API call, the reason it does not work is that flexlm component used does not support 64-bit host libraries. So cant make call into to it in this case to get the same info with 64-bit from flex libs since there are none. So until time comes that changes are made with the license implementation this one will not be available for the time being at least on the windows side.

The part I heard about change for that call were for XMS product on the Linux side which runs on top of HMP 4.1. Which does not help your case.

As far as FAX goes, I have not seen anything for adding 64-bit support in that case for that one.

    Jeff

  • Hi,

    Ok, got it thanks!

Not working dev_GetLicFeatureData  is actually not a big deal and can be easily worked around. But absence of 64 bits fax library and no plans of creating it is not too good.
