Hello,
We recently installed a DMG 2000 Setup as fallows; Avaya TN464 G connected locally to a DMG 2000 via TDM using Deliveryware, which is using the SR140 Driver (8 channels)
Everything seems to be configured and working, however I get multiple failures daily with status of quiet??
I can call these number and get fax tones..

For this kind of issue, I would try get a support case entered with with either the ISV / software vendor designed on top of SR140, or if you have a HAMG contract / per unit plan, I would contact Dialogic directly to help work through this. Not sure were the error of quiet is coming from...what do you see in the DMG's call log for this call? Are all faxes failing? Both directions?
Just seems to be outbound faxes, 95% of faxes are going through.. I am seeing the error being reported from withing Esker as a failure.Error and DMG stats below.. I am trying to get a capture now..
Check the DMG's call log and alarms page as well to see if there is anything alarming or odd. The other things you can attempt are to grab diag traces, a TDM capture, and a wireshark capture (RTP unchecked) and review them to see if you see anything our of the ordinary in regards to the particular failing faxes. Hopefully it is reproducible and you can capture the traces fairly easy....otherwise the TDM capture may be difficult to grab, and the wireshark trace may overrun itself.

Hi Davo,
since the error mesage here is "quiet", I suspect the issue is related to the B-channel numbering on the TDM side. This can cause silent calls when an ISDN B-channel above time slot 16 is being used. Since on E1 ISDN lines the D-channel is on time slot 16, the B-channels can either be numbered 1-30 or 1-15 + 17-31 by the PBX you are connecting to. If the numbering does not match on both the PBX and the DMG, B-channels from number 16 and above will get assigned to the wrong call.
This can, of course, be configured in the DMG. Go to teh DMG web interface and click on Configuration -> TDM -> T1/E1. There change the setting for Contiguous B-Channel (yes -> no or no->yes) and see if that resolves the issue.

That is correct...that is an E1 only config parameter. I would contact Esker to see if they can provide any assistance, but based on what you have posted this far, I see nothing the DMG's point of view related to an issue. Call looks like it is going through and disconnecting properly. The call log looked fine. If you can attach a network capture of the fax call, that also may help shed some light on the subject. If toy can reproduce the issue, try to grab a network capture of the entire fax call.Before starting the wireshark trace, uncheck RTP, then start the trace, make the call, stop the trace and attach it to your post.
It ended up being a setting on the DMG "echo cancellation" was off. Once turned on, problem went away
