Dialogic Webinar with Connected Planet September 22, 2011 at 11:00am Eastern / 8:00am Pacific / 4:00pm London Monetizing Mobile Video: A Carrier's Perspective
Learning how to measure the quality -- and assure delivery -- of video content as it travels across the network is the key to making money in mobile video. In this educational webinar, learn the network strategies necessary to increase your mobile video revenues.

There is no debate that mobile video is quickly becoming a huge phenomenon. Mobile video consumption is skyrocketing as viewers access entertainment, information and communication services using their mobile devices.
The business models around mobile video, however, are less clear. While traffic is skyrocketing, the revenues associated with mobile videos are growing modestly. Carriers are facing a key strategic challenge as they try to find new ways to make money from this video traffic.
Carriers are adopting a variety of methods for monetizing mobile video: Special subscription plans for video users, feature packages that may bundle video with other emerging applications, pay-per-view charging. The outcome of this will certainly be some sort of "tiered pricing" scheme, where consumers who are heavy users of mobile video will pay higher fees for their usage of network resources.
However, consumers that are paying higher prices to enjoy video content will also have higher expectations for the quality at which this video is delivered. And carriers today do not have adequate solutions at their disposal to guarantee (or even validate) a user's quality of experience for video content.
The ability to measure video quality, and track the quality of a specific piece of video content as it moves through the network, will be a key component of the monetization strategy for many carriers. In this seminar, we will discuss some strategies for validating mobile video quality, and some of the ways that carriers can use this information to increase their revenues from video traffic.
Key Audience Takeaways:
- Most of today's methods for measuring video quality rely exclusively on measuring network conditions; this is a highly inaccurate and unreliable way of determining what the viewer actually sees.
- Operators today need a way of analyzing perceptual video quality of a specific piece of video content -- determining what the viewer actually sees. This requires analysis of the video stream itself.
- A mobile operator can use video quality as a source of differentiation and monetization -- once an operator can validate the perceptual quality for a specific piece of video content, the operator can increase revenue through offers such as tiered services, subscriptions, or pay-per-view services.

Joint webinar with Digium - Building Video Conferencing Solutions with Asterisk®
Advances in technology and the widespread availability of IP network connectivity are fueling tremendous growth in video conferencing. Also stimulating the growth are changes in the business environment including a more geographically dispersed workforce, increases in the use of home offices and business travel in general. The consumerization and access to video conferencing via webcam enabled instant messengers and smart phones are elevating the general awareness and comfort with video communications as never before.
In the past, multipoint video conferencing technology was expensive and relied on complicated proprietary platforms which helped to keep adoption rates low. But as demand and interest in video conferencing grows, new approaches that leverage open source software and standard hardware platforms are breaking through these barriers.
In the same way that Asterisk has had a huge impact on the enterprise voice market, cost-effective video conferencing can be built on Asterisk using advanced video capabilities of the DiaStar® Server solution.
This webinar, suitable for either technical or business audiences, will cover the following:
- An overview of Asterisk
- The Video Conferencing market
- How to create a fully featured video conferencing solution controlled from the Asterisk dialplan
- Video endpoint support for desktop and PC-based clients • iPhone, Android and iPad mobile video clients
- Multiparty display
- Adding high-definition audio to your video conference

Why FoIP? webinar How integrating fax in a VoIP network can save money
Fenestrae and Dialogic are inviting you to their Free Webinar: Why FoIP? - How integrating fax in a VoIP network can save money on September 30, 2010 at 3 PM (CET).
Receiving and transmitting of Faxes is still a fact in most companies, driven by issues such as increasing legal compliance, authentication and traceability, or even just the ease of use of a fax machine. In many enterprises, huge amounts of money are spent not only on the transmission costs incurred by sending and receiving faxes, but also on the purchase and deployment of often expensive Fax Server solutions in multiple locations.
Many IT departments faced with this requirement would like to find ways to reduce both the capital and operating expenditure involved in this, and to improve the flexibility and manageability of Fax by bringing it closer to the rest of the IT infrastructure.
Agenda:
•Introduction Fenestrae & Dialogic
•Fax market drivers and trends
◦Unified Communications
◦Virtualization
•What is Fax Over IP (FOIP)
•Deployment scenarios
•Customer Case
•Summary

Webinar: Finding Profit in Mobile Video Services
Video services on mobile networks can represent both a dream and a nightmare for network builders. The proliferation of video-enabled devices and bandwidth growth is creating high demand for mobile video services, but mobile video has been slowed by a number of factors including poor user experience (typically caused by poor network design or device capability), the perceived high costs of subscription services and a lack of truly compelling use cases and applications for real-time mobile video communications.
Another notable hurdle to the widespread adoption of mobile video is the business case for operator investment. A new approach to evaluating the return on investment for mobile video services is needed -- one that views mobile video infrastructure as an enabling layer for value-added services, and video enablement of the value-added services portfolio that are already generating revenue streams for communication service providers today.
Can operators make the most of their networks while whetting the appetites of their subscribers for more mobile video experiences? In this webinar, Yankee Group Vice President Brian Partridge and Dialogic Product Marketing Director Ken Osowski will provide market context around mobile video service segmentation and perspective on solving the technical challenges of delivering video services across different networks and devices, as well as explore the "video enablement layer" and its key components, and present Yankee Group's latest research on the topic as detailed in the upcoming "Yankee Group's Mobile Video Services Market Assessment" whitepaper. | 9/29/2010 | Webinar |
