WHO: Jeff Dworkin, a recognized pioneer in the voice processing and internet telephony industries and product marketing manager for the Enterprise Marketing Group at Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for multimedia and signal processing.
WHAT: While open source has simplified the process of creating telecom applications, it has not helped developers make usable TUIs (telephony user interfaces). Dworkin's session, "Open Source Telecommunications: Enabling Anyone to Build a Bad Telephony Application," will explore details of designing telephony application interfaces that need to be used in a "listen only" mode. This discussion will cover good prompt design, application flow and menu design for both DTMF and ASR implementation.
