Dialogic’s Webinar Describes New Practices for Interacting with LTE Networks

Monday, May 13, 2013

Featuring guest speaker Steven van Zanen of BroadForward

MILPITAS, Calif. May 13, 2013 ----Dialogic Inc. (OTCQB:DLGC), the Network Fuel™ company, announced today that it will present a free webinar, “Interacting with LTE Networks,” on Wednesday, May 22 at 1 p.m. EST.  The webinar will give mobile carriers real-world strategies on how to elevate the performance of mixed-protocol networks through an integrated user experience, maximizing the benefits of LTE while supporting 2G and 3G voice and messaging, Wireline and Wi-Fi.

Faced with a variety of interfaces and protocols, mobile network operators are in need of solutions that normalize data between systems – particularly in multi-vendor environments. Dialogic’s Jim Machi, vice president of product management, and BroadForward’s Steven van Zanen, head of product management, will explore connectivity and signaling challenges encountered when LTE networks interact with other networks, and how these interworking challenges can be addressed quickly and efficiently.

“LTE and its signaling protocol, Diameter, are hot topics for the mobile value chain as carriers continue their network transitions,” explained Dimitris Mavrakis, principal analyst at Informa. “Diameter is inherently more complex than SS7, the signaling protocol for 2G and 3G networks; however, support for both protocols is required to ensure uninterrupted subscriber service. Some mobile operators are experiencing what this means – in some cases, the hard way. Operators that do not have a solid signaling strategy for their LTE deployments have experienced outages.”

Topics that will be covered during the webinar include:

  • How to study advanced use cases across vendor and technology boundaries to apply to their own networks
  • How to address connectivity challenges between Diameter and non-Diameter interfaces
  • When to connect network and IT systems using legacy and proprietary interfaces
  • How Diameter and SS7 interworking can enable innovation and increase time to market speed for new broadband services
  • How to simplify network architectures by centralizing interworking functions
  • How to reduce systems integration cost and extended economic lifetime of legacy systems
