xDSL

Is a range of digital broadband transmission technologies that involves sending digital information over a subscriber's telephone line or Digital Subscribers Line (DSL). xDSL refers to the family of dsl technologies which include asymmetric (ADSL), high-bit rate (HDSL), single-line (SDSL), and very-high-data-rate (HDSL).

Each type has advantages and disadvantges with differences in symetry, signal distance, and speed. ADSL is the most popular technology for broadband communications in home and business use.
