Dialogic® Diva® Media Boards and Software

The Dialogic® Diva® Media Boards and the Diva® Software Products provide a future proof and extremely flexible platform for the implementation of communication solutions.

The main design goal of all Diva products has been to provide “ease of use” and “re-usability of code” for use in many different environments. This reduces the TCO (total cost of ownership) for both the application developer as well as for the customer.

The Diva platform consists of two general parts:

1) The “Diva Media Boards” offering Analog, ISDN PRI/BRI, E1/T1 and IP connectivity

2) The “Diva Software” which is divided into Driver SW, Diva® SDK and Diva IP Gateway SW

The recommended way to select a suited Diva products is to first select the required connectivity (line type), then the required functionality (e.g. echo cancellation or V.90 modem support) and then to select the API.

The Diva platform offers many standard APIs (COM port, TAPI, CAPI, TTY, WAN Mini Port) so it will work out of the box with most of the existing communication applications. (Note: TAPI support is provided "as is" within the current implementation with no plans for updates in the future)

For projects where none of the standard APIs are suited the Diva SDK offers three Diva APIs that allow using different programming paradigms (languages and environments). This stretches from C or C# to .NET or VB.Script. In order to allow for an easy start the freely downloadable Diva SDK offers more than 70 “ready to use and run” samples which are often used as boiler plates for the different applications.

There is hardly any limit to the type of application that can be implemented based on the Diva platform. Typical applications that have been implemented on the Diva platform are: Unified Messaging (including fax), Unified Communications, IVR (DTMF), IVR (speech-enabled), contact center, conferencing server (including high quality conferences up to 360 active speakers), Asterisk® based systems, basic voice and CTI, call recording/tapping (call monitoring, HiZ, high impedance), network and protocol test equipment, M2M (machine to machine) communication, Point of Sales (POS), remote meter reading, Remote Access (RAS), SMS Gateways, VoIP/FoIP Gateways, and other telephony applications

The Diva platform is supported under Windows and Linux operating systems. The software is available for free download. The Diva Hardware is available in PCI and PCI Express. Depending on the port density the Diva boards come in Low Profile (LP), Half Size/Half Length (HS/HL) and Full Size (FS) form factors. Diva based solutions scale from 2 to 960 lines per server.

Below you find the products that create the Diva platform organized in the following groups: Analog Boards, ISDN BRI Boards, single E1/T1/PRI boards, multi-span E1/T1/PRI boards, virtual IP media boards (software), Diva software (Driver, SDK, IP GW, SS7) and Diva Client (ISDN modems)

Whatever communications application you have in mind, Diva is the most flexible, scalable open platform you could want.

Dialogic® CG Media Boards and Software

Dialogic® CG Media Boards and Software Products provide highly available, high-density platforms for developers of large-scale unified messaging, call center, network announcement, IVR, color ring-back tone, and VoIP solutions. CG Series Media Boards feature up to 16 software-selectable T1/E1 ports, as well as dual Ethernet interfaces that can be used either as two independent IP subnets or in an automatic fail-over mode that switches traffic to an alternate interface without interruption of in-progress calls.

Dialogic® HMP Interface Boards

Dialogic® HMP Interface Boards enable all the flexibility of host-based media resources (scalable and licensed in single-unit increments) to mate with the network interface, providing developers and system integrators with a new level of configuration flexibility and cost efficiency. These boards provide the interfaces for digital and analog networks. This is a departure from traditional media span products that require onboard digital signal processors (DSPs) to provide media and audio transcoding resources, which creates fixed costs and often fixed or limited configurations of media to complement the network interface density.

Dialogic® Blue™ Telephony Boards

The new Dialogic® Blue™ Product Line is aimed at the needs for the Open Source market.

At the moment the Blue Product Line consists of 5 members, the Dialogic® Blue™ OneSpan-24/30-S-LP, Dialogic® Blue™ OneSpan-24/30-H-HL, Dialogic® Blue™ TwoSpan-48/60-H-HL, Dialogic® Blue™ FourSpan-96/120-H-HL and Dialogic® Blue™ EightSpan-192/240-H-HL Telephony Boards.

The naming of the boards are according to the following schema: "OneSpan" stands for 1 E1/T1 ports with 24 or 30 channels, "TwoSpan" stands for 2 ports, and so forth up to "EightSpan" for 8 ports. "S" stands for software echo cancellation (free of charge), "H" stands for hardware echo cancellation (EC), "LP" stands for Low Profile form-factor and "HL" stands for Half Length form-factor.

The supported features are well suited for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) along with call transfer emulation, G.711 support, Automatic Gain Control (AGC), and echo cancellation.

The Blue Telephony Boards with Hardware echo cancellation do not need Host based EC. Therefore, they will be able to run on low performance host systems which consume less energy.

NOTE: Dialogic Blue OneSpan-24/30-S-LP Telephony Board has no on-board CPU and no on-board DSPs. The host CPU provides the computing power for the functionality that an application requires. In the case that EC (software) is required the host CPU must be carefully selected to provide an appropriate feature set and system load capabilities. A system with 3MB L3 cache and 2.26GHz processor speed and 4 GB of DDR3 memory, for example, should be sufficient for most applications that require EC.

The Blue Telephony Boards are supported under the Linux operating system.

Applications such as large conferencing servers with echo cancellation (EC) normally require a more powerful host system and possibly more powerful telephony boards. Great care has been taken to allow for an easy upgrade from Dialogic® Blue™ Telephony Boards to Dialogic® Diva® Media Boards when increased scalability or an extended feature set is required.
