  • Digital Network Interface Software Reference (last updated December 18, 2008)
    The Digital Network Interface Software Reference provides reference information on the Digital Telephony Interface (DTI) library, which can be used to develop applications requiring the ability to manage digital network interface (E1 or T1) connections to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Note: The DTI library is an older, lower-level library that has largely been subsumed into the Global Call API library. Although the DTI library continues to be supported, it is documented primarily for purposes of backwards compatibility. New applications should generally be developed with the comprehensive Global Call API library, which is now the preferred library for managing E1 and T1 telephony signaling.

    The IP Media Library API Library Reference provides reference information for developers using the IP media software to implement media services in IP telephony applications. The library provides functions to control IP media devices, start and stop RTP media streaming, handle DTMF, and manage QoS alarms and their thresholds. Note that the IP media library does not perform call control or control the IP signaling stack.

  • IP Media Library API Programming Guide
    The IP Media Library API Programming Guide provides guidelines for using the IP media software library to implement media handling in IP telephony applications. The library focuses on media functionality and relies on the use of a separate IP signaling stack to handle call control and media characteristic negotiations. In addition to managing and controlling IP media devices, the library provides functions for handling DTMF and controlling Quality of Service (QoS) alarms.

    The ISDN Software Reference provides reference information for the ISDN call control library that can be used to develop computer telephony applications that use the ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) or Primary Rate Interface (PRI). Note: The ISDN call control library is an older, lower-level library that has largely been subsumed into the Global Call API library. Although the ISDN library continues to be supported, it is documented primarily for purposes of backwards compatibility. New applications should generally be developed with the Global Call API library, which is now the preferred library for managing call control on ISDN interfaces.
