Dialogic’s James Rafferty and Jeff Van Dyke to Present at Communications Developer Conference at ITEXPO West 2008
Dialogic Executives Will Address the Technology Challenges and Opportunities Facing Service Providers as They Evolve to IMS Networks and Seek to Expand Mobile Video Offerings
WHO: James Rafferty, director of gateway product management, and Jeff Van Dyke, director of technology, of Dialogic, a global provider of world-class products and technologies for media and signal processing.
A well-known industry figure, Rafferty is active in the standards process through his work with the Internet Engineering Task Force and the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), and was instrumental in the development of the T.37 and T.38 IP fax standards and the Megaco/H.248 standards. Rafferty is also a co-author of several IETF RFC standards.
Van Dyke has played an important role in industry and standards organizations such as the IETF and W3C, helping to shape SIP and VXML standards for IP media servers in next-generation networks. He is the principal author of RFC 4240 "Basic Network Media Services with SIP" and RFC 5022 "Media Server Control Markup Language and Protocol."
WHAT: Rafferty will participate in the "IMS & ATCA" session, which will address the issues facing network operators as they move to reinvent themselves and increase revenue. Van Dyke will present at the "Exploring Next-Generation Video Standards" session, which will examine the advantages and disadvantages of 3G 324M and Video over IP, and what the ramifications of adoption in the U.S. are.
