Dialogic® Multimedia Kit for PCIe
This product will be retired on May 31st, 2010. Please consult the retired products database where you can find important availability dates and suggested migration paths when available.
Dialogic® Multimedia Kit for PCIe (MMK for PCIe) provides a powerful, flexible, and cost-effective combination of hardware and software that enables developers to deliver innovative multimedia applications on PCI Express (PCIe). Applications can include video portals, ring back tones, multimedia conferencing, and unified messaging over 3G wireless and IP networks using standard protocols for session and media control.
MMK for PCIe extends the capabilities of the Dialogic® Host Media Processing Software (Dialogic HMP Software) by adding Dialogic® Multimedia Accelerator Boards for PCIe (MMA Boards) for audio transcoding.
MMK for PCIe is designed to provide price/performance savings for multimedia solutions. It includes an MMA Board and Dialogic® Multimedia Kit Software Release 1.0 for PCIe (MMK Software 1.0 for PCIe) based on Dialogic HMP Software, which customers can deploy on standards-based Rack-Mount Server (RMS) platforms. Customers can choose from a variety of runtime software licenses.
MMK for PCIe provides the functionality developers need to create multimedia server and gateway solutions for 3G wireless, IP, and TDM networks. PSTN (T1/E1) connectivity can be added with a Dialogic® HMP Interface Board (DNI Board), which is available in a variety of densities for PCIe. Because it supports Dialogic R4 and Global Call APIs, MMK for PCIe can be used to both develop innovative multimedia solutions and migrate existing solutions from other platforms.
MMK for PCIe supports the Media Server Markup Language (MSML) media control interface for building distributed solutions, allowing applications to run on the same server as MMK or on a separate application server. This MSML functionality is designed to allow developers to rapidly create new services that run on remote application servers in a distributed environment.
