Dialogic® Diva® Media Boards and Software

The Dialogic® Diva® Media Boards and the Diva® Software Products provide a future proof and extremely flexible platform for the implementation of communication solutions. The main design goal of all Diva products has been to provide “ease of use” and “re-usability of code” for use in many different environments. This reduces the TCO (total cost of ownership) for both the application developer as well as for the end customer.

The Diva platform consists of two general parts:
  1. The “Diva Media Boards” offering E1/T1, ISDN PRI/BRI, Analog and IP connectivity
  2. The “Diva Software” which is divided into Driver SW, Diva® SDK, Diva IP Gateway SW and SS7 support

A recommended way to select suited Diva products is to first select the required connectivity (line type), then the required functionality (e.g. echo cancellation or V.90 modem support) and then to select the API. The Diva platform offers many standard APIs (COM port, TAPI, CAPI, TTY, WAN Mini Port) so the Diva Media Board (including the "virtual IP board") will work out of the box with most of the existing communication applications. For projects where the use of standard APIs is not intended the Diva SDK offers three Diva APIs that allow using different programming paradigms (languages and environments). This stretches from C or C# to .NET or VB.Script. In order to allow for an easy start the freely downloadable Diva SDK offers more than 70 “ready to use” samples which are often used as boiler plates for the different applications.

There is hardly any limit to the type of application that can be implemented based on the Diva platform. Typical applications that have been implemented on the Diva platform are: Unified Messaging (including fax), IVR (DTMF), IVR (speech-enabled), contact center, conferencing server (including high quality conferences up to 360 active speakers), Asterisk® based systems, basic voice and CTI, call recording/tapping (call monitoring, HiZ, high impedance), network and protocol test equipment, Point of Sales (POS) concentrators, remote meter reading, Remote Access (RAS), SMS Gateways, VoIP/FoIP Gateways, and other telephony applications

The Diva platform is supported under Windows and Linux operating systems. The software is available for free download. The Diva Hardware is available in PCI and PCI Express. Depending on the port density the Diva boards come in Low Profile (LP), Half Size (HS) and Full Size (FS) form factors. Diva based solutions scale from 2 to 495 lines per server and more.
Below you find the products that make up the Diva platform. The products are organized in the following seven groups: single E1/T1/PRI boards, multi-span E1/T1/PRI boards, ISDN BRI Boards, Analog Boards, "virtual IP media boards", Diva software (Driver, SDK, IP-GW, SS7) and Diva Client (small ISDN modems for workstations).

In order to offer suited media boards for different target markets, there are 4 different "levels" of Diva boards: CTI Series, V-Series, UM-Series and Universal Series. The CTI Series is for applications that do not need rich media processing functionality. The V-Series is for pure voice applications. The UM-Series adds fax support to half of the channels. The Universal Series offers all features on all channels.

NOTE: For the mid to large scale installations (multiple E1/T1/J1 spans) we offer the Diva V-xPRI Series that are delivered with the functionality of a V-Series board. Additional functionality like modem, fax or VoIP CODECs can be added via upgrade licenses.

Whatever communications application you have in mind, Diva is the most flexible, scalable open platform you could want.

      Dialogic Diva SDK

      The Dialogic® Diva® SDK is a high-level development toolkit for Windows and Linux that supports all Dialogic® Diva® Media Boards. For installations into IP Environments the Diva SDK supports Dialogic® Diva® softIP for SIP (Windows and Linux) as well as the Dialogic® Host Media Processing (HMP) software. Diva® SDK applications run unchanged on Diva Media Boards, Diva softIP SW and Dialogic HMP SW. This includes installations where different types of Diva Media Boards, Diva softIP or Dialogic HMP are combined in a single system. The Diva SDK contains over 70 complete samples for C, C#, C++, Visual C++ and VB.NET.

The "virtual signalling" architecture of Diva allows to connect non SS7 aware applications to SS7 networks.
