As a standard setting, the Diva 850 ISDN T/A makes data connections that run at 64 Kbits per second if both you and the other user are connected to ISDN lines. The rate will be less if the other user uses a 56k . At this setting the adapter uses only one of the two available ISDN channels. Running at higher speeds is often desirable however, like when large volumes of data are retrieved via the Internet.
Therefore, the Diva 850 ISDN T/A makes it possible to use both ISDN channels as if they were one data channel. In so doing, a total data of 128 Kbits per second (double the speed) is achieved. In order to use both channels, enter the installation program and select
the Diva 850 ISDN T/A. Then go to Settings and select the page with protocols. Here
select 2 Channels and then OK. This setting will not be placed directly
in the adapter, but will be saved under the dial-up networking set-up which you use for dialling
up the Internet. This function is only available if your ISDN provider supports two-channel bundling.
Note! Whenever you use Two Channel Bundling, it normally costs double the call initiation
charge and double the phone-line charge, since both ISDN channels are in use. Naturally, this only applies
if no other agreements with your ISDN provider are in force.
