ISDN Caller Identification Blocking

This page describes a service supported by the Eicon Diva 850 ISDN T/A. Please note that some services are only available if the user subscribes to them via his/her telecom company.

ISDN Caller Identification Blocking (for data dial-ups)

In order to make anonymous data dial-ups, it is necessary to subscribe to the "Caller Identification Blocking" service from your ISDN provider. This service is divided into three categories:

1. Caller Identification Blocking, all calls
2. Caller Identification Blocking, standard setting
3. Caller Identification, standard setting

If you have chosen category 1, these commands do not affect the identification of the caller number. Caller Identification Blocking will always be in effect.

On the other hand, if you have selected category 2 or 3, the commands below let you change the standard settings for a specific call. In order for the subscribed category to be decisive for whether or not the caller number will be identified, the adapter must be configured to allow "ISDN Caller Identification Blocking" to follow the exchange settings.

It is also possible for you to let the caller identification function be handled by the set-up of the Eicon Diva 850 ISDN T/A instead of the exchange settings (applies only to categories 2 and 3). Use the Eicon Configuration Program to determine whether "Caller Line Identification" or "Caller Identification Blocking" is standard.
