No: Check the USB cable is correctly and fully inserted at both ends.
OK now?

No: Uninstall and then reinstall the Diva software -
follow the Installation procedure. The
uninstall procedure is essential - it is available via the Diva ADSL
USB Configuration utility under the heading 'Remove'. (Click 'Start'
> 'Programs' > 'Diva ADSL USB' > 'Configure'.)

No: Check the USB setup - use the USB
checklist. Try removing other USB devices connected to the PC.

Note: The 'Ready' light being on indicates that the relevant
driver has been installed and is actively aware of the presence of the
Diva ADSL USB.

Yes: Is the 'ADSL' light permanently on?
|
No: Check the ADSL cable is correctly and fully inserted at both ends.
OK now?
No: Check the status of your ADSL line with your provider.
No: Check the ADSL settings - check both the VPI / VCI and especially
the encapsulation settings. Also, if the 'Multimode' setting
does not work, try setting the modulation to the precise setting -
usually 'G.dmt ' - check with your provider to be sure. See ADSL

Yes: Double-click the 'ADSL Connection' shortcut icon
on the Windows desktop or within Dial-up Networking. Click the 'Connect'
button. Do you get a successful connection?

No. Do you get "Error 650?" Right-Click the 'ADSL
Connection' icon and select 'Properties' - Check with provider that
the settings are correct. Also be sure to check the 'Encapsulation'
setting in the configuration program as this cannot be over-ridden by
the Dial-up Networking setting like the VPI/VCI setting can. See ADSL

No 'ADSL Connection' icon on desktop? Click 'My Computer' >
'Dial-up Networking'. Look for an appropriate connection name e.g.
'Eicon Diva PPP Connection', 'ADSL Connection', or similar. Double
click on this icon, and then click the 'Connect' button in the pop-up
window. No ADSL icon at all? See Make

No: Do you get "Error 391"? Check exact spelling of password
and username. - check especially for upper case & lower case, or
any punctuation - hyphens, underscores, spaces, etc. OK? See also:

Yes: OK - browse the Internet: Load browser and type in
http://www.eicon.com. Can you browse
the Internet?

No. Do you get "Server not available or DNS Error" (or
similar)? You have a DUN connection but no Internet access? Dial-up
networking may have become corrupted: Un-Install
and then re-install DUN 1.3.
