How to install the latest drivers for the Diva ADSL USB
These drivers are freely downloadable from Eicon Networks and work with Windows 98 through to XP.
Note: They are in a zip file which is about 7.5 Mb, so allow plenty of time for the download to take place.

- Save the file to a folder on your hard disk
Note: You must uninstall the current USB driver before installing the new one.
To uninstall the current USB driver:
- Click ‘Start’, ‘Programs’, ‘Eicon Diva ADSL Modem‘, 'Uninstall’.
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
- It is mandatory to unplug the USB cable, once the uninstall program indicates it is safe to do so.
- Restart your computer if requested. Wait until the Windows has restarted and you see the Windows desktop before continuing.
To install the new USB driver:

- Re-insert the USB cable to begin installation of the new driver.
- When requested, do not insert the Diva CD-ROM.
- Click the 'radio button' that indicates that you wish to 'Install from a list or a specific location'.
- Click 'Next'
- Click the radio button to 'Search for the best driver in these locations'
- Uncheck the box to 'Search for removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...)'
- Check the box 'Include this location in the search'
- Enter the path to the new driver files you downloaded from the Eicon web site. (Use the 'Browse' key if you wish)
- Click 'Next'
- After a brief period, the New Hardware Wizard will give the error message below
- This is quite correct at this stage since the drivers have not yet been fully installed
- Do not be concerned, simply click the 'Finish' button to allow the full installation to proceed
- XP will now recognise the new hardware and the Eicon setup will start
- Click 'Next' to and the installation process will continue.
- Click 'Yes' to accept the software license agreement
- Select either your ISP or your ADSL Encapsulation method from the choices offered.
- Consult your Telco, ISP, or ADSL supplier if in any doubt
- Click 'Next' to continue
- The selected settings will now be displayed
- Click 'Next' to accept these and continue
- Note: These settings can be easily edited later if required
- Windows XP will then indicate that these drivers have not been passed for Windows Logo testing.
- Click 'Continue Anyway' to proceed with the installation
- This part of the install is now complete.
- Click 'Finish' to proceed with the next phase of the installation
- Now the New Hardware Wizard starts again
- This time it recognises the Eicon Networks USB ADSL Loader
- You can leave the radio button at the default 'Recommended' setting
- Click 'Next' to continue
- Windows XP again informs you that these drivers have not yet passed Windows Logo Testing
- Click 'Continue Anyway' to proceed with the installation
- The drivers are now copied to the appropriate Windows directories
- The ADSL Loader has now finished installing. Click 'Finish' to continue
- Now the New Hardware Wizard fully recognises the 'Eicon networks USB ADSL WAN Modem'
- Leave the radio button at the default 'Recommended' setting
- Click 'Next' to continue
- The final setup has now completed and the modem is now fully installed and ready for use
- Click 'Finish' to complete the installation
- Ensure the modem configuration settings are correct.
- Ensure the correct information is inserted into your Dial-up Networking Connection
Note: As part of the above installation process, a Dial-Up Networking Connection for your Diva ADSL USB Modem should be created, and a shortcut to it should be placed on your XP desktop.
