Using Microsoft Shared Fax (MSF) with Brooktrout TR Boards

The latest Service Pack for the Microsoft operating system is a pre-requisite for the installation of Shared Fax.

The Fax Service Provider (FSP) software allows you to install your Brooktrout analog TR1034 and analog RoHS Trufax fax boards for use with the Microsoft Shared Fax software application.
The Fax Service Provider Software is not supported for BRI or digital TR1034/Trufax boards.
Unzip this file to get to the install and follow the Installation Instructions directly below.
Important: The installation instructions below supersede and replace all other installation instructions. Please do not follow any other installation instructions.
Installation instructions
First time install:
1. Install Brooktrout System Software from autorun.exe
2. Run Brooktrout Configuration Tool : Go to Start -> Programs -> Brooktrout Configuration Tool and accept all default settings; At the end of the installation make sure to select Save & Apply.
3. Install Brooktrout MSF FSP software from autorun.exe
In the Fax Console your board should now be listed under "device and providers".
If a previous version is already installed:
1. Uninstall MSF FSP Software: Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Click on 'Remove'; While uninstalling, if you receive an 'Abort' message then select 'No' and continue with the uninstall.
2. Also uninstall the Brooktrout System Software using Add/Remove programs.
3. Begin the new install of the latest version 1.06: install Brooktrout System Software using autorun.exe.
4. Run the Brooktrout Configuration tool : Go to Start -> Programs -> Brooktrout Configuration Tool and and accept all default settings; At the end of the installation make sure to select Save & Apply.
5. Install Brooktrout MSF FSP Software using autorun.exe, accepting all defaults.
If you see a message saying 'a previous version of software is installed: do you wish to continue?' then you should click 'Yes'.
If you see a message saying 'a previous version of the MSF is present' or there are any other errors, then you should uninstall MSF FSP, and reinstall. Typically you will only need to do this once.
Below is a screen shot of what the install should look like. If it is not a clean install you will see that TSP or FSP is already on system. This indicates that an uninstall/reinstall will be needed.
