Create a Dial up Connection


Note: The instructions below are based on the Network Connection wizard in Windows XP. For setting up a Dial-up connection in Windows 2000 the first 3 steps are identical, and then the wizard varies slightly. Use these instructions as a guideline.

Creating a 64Kbps dial-up connection


Step 1. Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Network and Dial-Up connection.

Step 2. Click on the icon named 'Make a new Connection'.



Step 3. Press next to continue the Wizard.



Step 4. Select the option 'Connect to the Internet' and press next.



Step 5. Click the option 'Set up my Connection Manually' and press next.



Step 6. Choose the option 'Connect using a Dial up Modem'.



Step 7. Select one instance of the device "ISDN Channel - Eicon Diva XXXX" and press next.



Step 8. Give you connection a name, for instance the name of your ISP.



Step 9. Type the number to connect to your ISP.



Step 10. Select which user should have access to the connection.



Step 11. Type the username and password for signing into your Internet account.



Step 12. Complete the Internet Connection Wizard by pressing 'finish'. You are now ready to dial out connecting at 64Kbps.

Setting up a 128Kbps Dial-up Connection.


If you want to connect at 128Kbps you will need to access the 'Properties' of the Internet connection you created above, and then tick both the Diva ISDN channels.
Make sure the option "All devices call the same numbers" is also ticked.



You are now ready to dial out connecting at 128Kbps.
