USB standards and Compatibility

If a USB chipset, or Host Adapter, or a USB product, does not fully comply with the USB standard, then it may prevent other USB products from functioning properly, even though these products are themselves fully compliant with the USB specification. Many of these issues involve critical timings which may only reveal themselves under load. For example, all devices may work OK except when sending a very large fax.

If you are still experiencing problems after checking all the settings for a USB device and finding them to be correct, it is worth checking out the individual elements of the USB chain. These are:



Any one of these can influence the correct operation of the Diva USB. Use Windows Device Manager to check out your USB Settings. Discover who the manufacturer of the various components is, and consult the supplier or their website to check for USB compatibility issues. There may be fixes, driver patches, or BIOS upgrades available which could cure the problem you are experiencing.
