Dialogic® DM3 and JCT Media Boards

PCI Boards Are Not Detected

See also: How to Detect and Start a Dialogic® DM3 or JCT PCI Board Under Windows 2000 Platform

Problem Description:
After installing an Dialogic® PCI board into a computer system with Dialogic® System Release 5.1.1, the configuration manager (DCM.EXE) is not able to detect the board. The same board may or may not be detected in other PCI slots in the same system.

Solution Summary:
Verify that the system is running Dialogic® System Release 5.1.1 Build 30 or later. The system release number and the build number can be found by examining the file BILDINFO.INI. This file is usually installed as C:\Program Files\Dialogic\INI\BILDINFO.INI.

Technical Discussion:
In software builds prior to System Release 5.1.1 Build 30, the DCM program only scanned PCI buses zero through six. However, some new systems now have PCI buses with numbers seven or higher. Earlier versions of the software did not scan for Dialogic® boards in higher numbered buses. Since the higher numbered buses were not scanned, any Dialogic® boards in those PCI slots were not detected. This problem was corrected with a software update and is available in System Release 5.1.1 Build 30 and later software releases. Note that System Release 5.1.1 Build 30 is the production build and this is available for download from our website.

Produc List:
Any Dialogic® PCI board
Any chassis with PCI buses numbered higher than six
Dialogic® System Release 5.1.1

Glossary of Acronyms / Terms:
