Dialogic® DM3 & JCT Media Boards
DM3™ Board Fails To Download
Problem Description:A DM3™ board in the system fails to download after setting the Dialogic services to start automatically by using the services application (in Administrative Tools in the Control Panel).
Solution Summary:
Set the dlgcmd service to start automatically or use DCM to set services to start automatically.
Technical Discussion:
In order for the DM3™ board to download, all of the Dialogic® services must be set to start automatically. If only some of the services are set to start automatically, then the rest may not start correctly and the DM3™ board will fail to download. Using the services application in the Administrative Tools folder in the Control Panel does not actually set all of the Dialogic services to start automatically.
There are two ways to get all of the Intel/Dialogic services to start automatically.
Method #1 (preferred) - Use DCM to set the services to start automatically. Start DCM. In DCM, click on the menu option for "Service" then click on "Startup mode" then click on "Automatic". This is the preferred way to set all of the services to start automatically.
Method #2 - Right click on "My Computer" on the desktop. From the popup menu select "Properties". On the system properties page that appears click on the tab for "Hardware". On this screen click on the button for "Device Manager". Near the top of this window, click on the menu option for "View" and then click on "Show Hidden Devices". This will show the non-plug and play drivers. Under the non-plug and play drivers, select "dlgcmd". Right click on "dlgcmd" and then click on "Properties". Click on the tab for "Driver". On the driver page, click on the dropdown menu for Startup Type and change the value from "Demand" to "Automatic". Click on "OK". Close the device manager windows and other windows that were opened.
