Dialogic® DM3 & JCT Media Boards
Windows* 2000 Device Manager Reports a Device Conflict For PCI Blade
Problem Description:The Windows* 2000 device manager will detect a resource conflict with DlgcSram after installation of a PCI blade.
Environment:
Windows* 2000 using PCI blades ( DM3™ boards or Springware)
Solution Summary:
This error message is expected to appear under Windows* 2000 device manager. The message is a result of the way the Dialogic® blade registers itself with the system. These devices are not "plug and play", therefore do not use the device manager as its source of configuration information. The reason why the blades are registered with the device manager is to avoid the "New hardware wizard" from running each time the system is rebooted. The hardware wizard triggers off the device list, therefore it was necessary to put the device inside the manager.
The error is there to ensure that the blade is not started by the resource manager but the configuration manager (eg DCM). This resource conflict will not impact the runtime execution, nor the Dialogic® System or Windows* 2000. Therefore, these messages can be safely ignored.
