Example call trace with notes

This article contains an example of an annotated call trace from the Dialogic® IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateway, Dialogic® IMG 1004 Integrated Media Gateway or Dialogic® IMG 2020 Integrated Media Gateway (IMG 2020), formerly referred to as Dialogic® BorderNet™ 2020 Session Border Controller.

The following call trace shows a call from SS7 to SIP.   Comments and notes that help explain the contents of the trace have been added in bold.

The first information to look for in the  is the call ID data, which in the trace below is 00:00005:00
  • The first field is a single byte containing the Node ID 00:00005:00
  • The 2nd field of 3 bytes is the IMG call ID 00:00005:00
  • The 3rd field is a single byte that indicates the Leg of the call; 00:00005:00 indicates the Ingress leg and 00:00005:01 indicates the egress leg.
