How to upgrade your Diva System Release installation (Windows and Linux).

Introduction:   

This article describes how to upgrade the Dialogic® Diva® System Release on Windows and Linux operating systems. Select from the options below:


Upgrading a Diva Media Board installation, or a Diva softIP installation on Windows

  • Before you start, back up your configuration from the Diva Configuration Manager (File > Save As..., and save the resulting .cfg file). Also back up your licenses (located in C:\ProgramData\Dialogic Diva).
  • Uninstall the existing Diva System Release by running the Diva Uninstall program from Start > Programs > Dialogic Diva > Uninstall (detailed instructions). Reboot when prompted.
  • Download the latest service update for Dialogic® Diva® System Release 8.5WIN.
  • Double-click DivaALL.EXE to unpack the archive. When prompted, select the destination folder.
  • Start the driver installation by running SETUP.EXE.
  • After the installation is complete, restore the configuration in the Diva Configuration Manager (File > Open..., select the configuration file, then Activate the configuration). Verify that your licenses are installed in License Manager. If not, add them in License Manager, or copy them back to their original folder location. Note that if you make any changes to the license configuration within License Manager, you MUST Activate the configuration before you exit the Diva Configuration Manager. 
  • Reboot the machine.


Upgrading a DMG4000 Gateway installation

  • Before you start, back up your configuration from the Diva Configuration Manager (File > Save As..., and save the resulting .cfg file). Also back up your licenses (located in C:\ProgramData\Dialogic Diva\ , and C:\ProgramData\Dialogic Diva\sipcontrol\Licenses\ ). Finally, back up your SIPcontrol configuration by running 'regfile save SIPc.cfg' from a command line in %WINDIR%/Program Files (x86)/Diva Server/.
  • Uninstall Dialogic® Diva® SIPcontrol™ from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  • Uninstall the existing Diva System Release by running the Diva Uninstall program from Start > Programs > Dialogic Diva > Uninstall (detailed instructions). Reboot when prompted.
  • Download the latest Diva System Release service update for the DMG4000 Gateway. 
  • Double-click DivaALL.EXE to unpack the archive. When prompted, select the destination folder.
  • Start the driver installation by running SETUP.EXE.
  • After the installation is complete, restore the configuration in the Diva Configuration Manager (File > Open..., select the configuration file, then Activate the configuration). 
  • From the Start menu, go to the Dialogic Diva program group and run Install SIPcontrol.  Select the appropriate option when asked if you want to keep the existing configuration.
  • Verify that your licenses are installed in License Manager. If not, add them in License Manager, or copy them back to their original folder location. Note that if you make any changes to the license configuration within License Manager, you MUST Activate the configuration before you exit the Diva Configuration Manager. 
  • The SIPcontrol configuration should have been preserved, but if not, restore it by running 'regfile load SIPc.cfg' from a command line in %WINDIR%/Program Files (x86)/Diva Server/.
  • Reboot the machine.


Upgrading a Diva SIPcontrol installation on Windows

  • Before you start, back up your configuration from the Diva Configuration Manager (File > Save As..., and save the resulting .cfg file). Also back up your licenses (located in C:\ProgramData\Dialogic Diva\ , and C:\ProgramData\Dialogic Diva\sipcontrol\Licenses\ ). Finally, back up your SIPcontrol configuration by running 'regfile save SIPc.cfg' from a command line in %WINDIR%/Program Files (x86)/Diva Server/.

  • Uninstall Dialogic® Diva® softSS7 from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  • Uninstall the existing Diva System Release by running the Diva Uninstall program from Start > Programs > Dialogic Diva > Uninstall (detailed instructions). Reboot when prompted.
  • Download the latest service update for Diva System Release 8.5WIN.
  • Double-click DivaALL.EXE to unpack the archive. When prompted, select the destination folder.

Upgrading the Diva System Release installation on Linux

Upgrading the Diva System Release on Linux will upgrade all software components (softIP, SIPcontrol and softSS7) as well.

  • Download the latest service update for Dialogic® Diva® System Release 9.6LIN
  • Make the downloaded .BIN file executable by running
    chmod u+x *.bin
  • Execute the installer with 
    ./Diva4Linux_installer_*.bin
  • When prompted, confirm the uninstall of the currently installed driver. Configuration and licenses are backed up and will be restored when the installation completes.
  • Proceed to run the ./Build script from /usr/lib/opendiva/divas/src/
