Issues Related to Entering Standby Mode on Laptops Running Dialogic HMP Software
Summary:
A workaround to enter standby mode on a laptop computer running A workaround to enter standby mode on a laptop computer running Dialogic® Host Media Processing (HMP) Software.
Symptom:
Dialogic HMP Software can be run on laptop computers, but the HMP Software drivers may present problems when putting a laptop into standby mode. When attempting to go into standby mode, the following error message appears and standby mode fails:
The device driver for the 'Intel HMP Device' is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver.
Workaround:
NOTE:
Dialogic HMP Software is not supported on laptops due to access to components and timers not being available on the laptops. A user may want to run Dialogic HMP Software for demo purposes but should be wary of potential voice quality issues that may be seen due to above-mentioned missing components. In addition, Dialogic HMP Software may not be able to run on certain laptops.
The following workaround describes how to disable the Dialogic HMP Software and allow the system to enter standby mode. This workaround tested effectively on a laptop running Dialogic Host Media Processing Software Release 3.0 for Windows, Service Update 144. Note, that although not specifically tested, this workaround should also be applicable to earlier Dialogic HMP Software 3.0 Service Updates.
