Dialogic® Host Media Processing (HMP) Software
How to eliminate large delay (up to 5 minutes) when starting Dialogic® HMP Software through the Dialogic® Configuration Manager
Symptom:
Starting Dialogic® Host Media Processing (HMP) Software through the Dialogic® Configuration Manager (DCM), the initialization period is excessively long, perhaps up to 5 minutes.
Usually when a server is experiencing this issue the delay will be consistent. Users may see messages in DebugView similar to the following repeated again and again:

Reason for the issue:
The Windows® registry and Dialogic configuration can become corrupted when a large number of Dialogic related changes are made on a server that has Dialogic HMP Software installed and also has Dialogic® media boards installed. This is common in dual boot systems where one partition houses HMP Software, and another partition houses a Dialogic® System Release Software, supporting Dialogic® media boards.
The configuration changes that can contribute to this issue include the following:
- Multiple upgrading/downgrading with different builds
- Multiple deinstall/reinstalls with Dialogic® HMP Software versions such as 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, etc.
- Media boards added and removed in a Dialogic® HMP Software installation even though they are not being used by that partition.
Fix / Solution:
To fix this issue, perform the following steps:
1.) Stop Dialogic® HMP Software and close DCM
2.) Run regedit, and go to the following folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> DIALOGIC
3.) Highlight the "Installed Boards" folder and delete it. This will remove the folder and and all of its subkeys
4.) Start DCM again; a prompt should appear asking if the user wants to connect to the local machine

Dialogic® HMP Software should now start in its normal time; that is, just a few seconds. It is not necessary to reapply or reactivate the license.
