Dialogic® IMG Integrated Media Gateway

How to reset a telnet session

Symptom:

A Dialogic® IMG Integrated Media Gateway ('IMG') or Dialogic® MSP 1010 Multi-services Platform ('MSP') allows only one telnet session to be active at any given time.  Once a telnet session is established, subsequent telnet connection attempts will fail with "Sorry, session limit reached" .

Reason for the issue:

There are times when an administrator or support person will need to access the IMG or MSP using telnet while another active (or inactive) telnet session has already been established.

Solutions:

1.  Dialogic® Gate Control Element Management System (GCEMS) or Dialogic® Multi-services Platform SwitchKit® (Development Environment) users running Dialogic® ClientView may reset the telnet object by navigating to the 'Telnet Client Enable' object, right-clicking it and selecting the 'Reset Telnet Client' option:

Note: the 'Remote IP Address' value is not updated in real-time; deselect the 'Telnet Client Enable' object and then reselect it to refresh the current view.

2.  MSP users who have developed their own applications may send the following API message:
