How does the VPN Client connect to Safepipe?

VPN Clients version 2.0 and later communicate with Safepipe via UDP port 30295 and UDP port 30296. If a VPN Client does not get a reply from the connection on UDP port 30295, it will attempt to connect via ICMP ping, UDP port 500 (IKE) and IP protocol 50 (ESP), in that order.
Please note that ICMP ping is occasionally blocked by firewalls and that IP protocol 50 cannot be masqueraded.
