How to calculate a subnet mask for a network

Calculating a subnet mask can be a slightly complicated task. However, the Safepipe Centre offers all the advice you need.

Before doing the calculation, you should have determined the required number of subnets and how many host addresses you are going to need on each net. As for advice on the calculation itself, please turn to 'Calculating a subnet mask' in the 'IP Addresses & Subnetting' course.
