Printer-friendly versionHow to configure iKeys with the iKey Manager

Introduction

iKeys are identity tokens that can be used with Eicon VPN Clients for source authentication. This guide describes how you configure a Master iKey and, once this iKey is configured, how you configure one or more User iKeys. The iKey Manager program is used when configuring both types of iKeys.

Note: With the iKey Manager you may later reset any iKey by inserting it in a USB port, right-clicking on the desired icon, and selecting 'Reset iKey'.
Important:
If you reset the Master iKey, you will disable management of any User iKey configured with that particular Master iKey - unless you have created a copy.

Prerequisites

  • Safepipe must be installed.

  • The iKey Manager software must be installed on the administrator's workstation.

  • The administrator's workstation must be equipped with more than one USB port.

If you are going to configure several User iKeys, you may wish to use a USB hub to facilitate the task.

  • In Safepipe's Client section, token files (configuration files) must be created for each iKey user, and the 'Hard Token' box must be checked in the same section.

All token files must be configured on Safepipe with identical temporary keys. Otherwise, there will be a conflict with the Master iKey.
