In the Masquerade context often referred to as a network card inside Masquerade. Masquerade communicates with a local network through such a device, e.g. the Ethernet 2 card.
In more general terms, a device can mean a physical unit associated with the use of a computer, for example a keyboard, a mouse, etc.
