LAN
A Local Area Network, LAN, is a network that connects computers, printers, etc. within a limited area, like an office, a building, or a campus. Workstations and PCs in a company or an organisation are commonly connected to each other with a LAN. This allows them to share data and services. Usually the devices in a LAN are connected via cables. Each device connected to a LAN is called a node.
