POP3
Post Office Protocol version 3, POP3, is a standard used to retrieve e-mail messages from a mail server. When sending e-mail to a server, the SMTP protocol will be used. The user’s POP3 client software fetches mail by connecting to a POP3 server. This server might be located at an Internet service provider (ISP). POP3 is the newest version of POP.
