  1. In the Windows 'Start' menu, select 'Settings' > 'Network and Dial-up Connections'.

  2. Double-click on 'Local Area Connection'.

  3. Click on the 'Properties' button.

  4. Click on the 'Install' button below the list of components.

  5. Select 'Protocol' and click 'Add'.

    Select Network Component Type

  6. Select 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' and click 'OK'.

  7. The TCP/IP protocol has now been added to the list of components. Click 'OK' to apply the changes.

  8. Click 'Close' to finish.
