Printer-friendly versionHow to upgrade the Safepipe software

Introduction

This guide describes how you install new software on Safepipe, when a new software version is released.

Prerequisites

  • The Safepipe Administration Tool must be installed on your workstation.

The Administration Tool can be found on the Administrator's CD-ROM that came bundled with Safepipe. Alternatively, you may download it.

  • You must have downloaded the new software to your workstation.

Procedure

  1. First create a backup of Safepipe's current configuration: On Safepipe's management interface, select 'System' > 'Access' > 'Management'.

  4. Open the Safepipe Administration Tool. Click 'Next' on the first screen. When the tool has detected the device, click 'Next' once more.

Note: If the Administration Tool detects more than one Safepipe in Service Mode, select the appropriate one from the list that appears, then click 'Next'.

  5. Select the action 'Upgrade software' and click 'Next.

  6. Click 'Browse' to locate and select the software that you have downloaded. Then click 'Next'.

    Upgrade software

  7. It will take a couple of minutes before the software is loaded into Safepipe.

    Storing software

  8. Afterwards, you are asked whether you want to launch Safepipe's management interface after restart. When you click the 'Finish' button, Safepipe exits service mode and restarts in normal operation mode with the new software installed.
