Technologies
Dialogic has an extraordinary history of collaborating with its partners in their transition to new technology. With over 70 registered patents and a long list of industry "firsts" since its inception in 1984, Dialogic has long been a pioneer and a catalyst for its customers and partners as they create innovative communications applications.
To stay ahead of the curve, Dialogic technologists and engineers are constantly researching the newest ideas and the latest industry standards and trends. In this technologies section, Dialogic aims to share information about these ideas, standards, and trends.
Dialogic Media Labs
Dialogic® Media Labs, our in-house video research and development laboratory, is creating innovative video technologies for Dialogic® products and services. These technologies include breakthroughs in video coding (things like enhanced bit rate control, frame rate adaptation, and perceptual quantization) and advanced software for analyzing a video stream. Tools such as image analysis and digital watermarking can enable a wide range of applications, including “quality of experience” measurement, tracking and reporting on the effectiveness of mobile advertising, and detecting a specific pattern within a video stream.
HD Voice
A new excitement has entered the mobile industry with the advent of wideband audio, commonly known as HD Voice. Although enterprises have gradually been moving to HD VoIP within their own networks, tight budgets and PSTN connections, which utilize narrowband audio codecs, have minimized widespread acceptance. Early research has shown that consumers react very favorably (93%) to HD Voice, which provides significantly superior natural sound and a dramatically increased sense of participating in a live conversation. Mobile users are expected to move to HD Voice quickly.
Mobile Broadband Services
Mobile broadband services include voice, data, and video, and are increasing in number, access speed, and the features and functionality available. To deliver these services effectively, understanding Long Term Evolution (LTE) and its impact, as well as current advances in video and application technologies, is important. Security issues are also key.
Open Source Initiatives
As the open source community begins to provide software solutions to meet the requirements of carriers and large enterprises, an equally robust telecom infrastructure is needed. With innovative software and hardware for open source projects, Dialogic is bringing its expertise to supplying reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant communications technology to demanding open-source markets.
Web Services
The speed of change on the web is exciting - with new paradigms, opportunities, and methods for delivering faster and richer content. To follow new web services trends and learn to profit from them, it is important to understand Web 2.0, how Web 2.0 APIs and development environments differ from traditional environments, and the ways in which Web 2.0 is changing business models.
Video Services
Carriers, developers, and standards bodies are now focused on a new challenge - converging video services with voice and text applications.
