Using the gateway routing table

Use the gateway routing table to define routing rules. The following topics describe how to use the routing table:

Adding a routing rule

To add a routing rule to the gateway routing table, follow these steps:

Access the Vision Console, as described in Accessing the Vision Console.

Click Gateway routes in the Provisioning menu.

The Call routing table page appears.

In Add new gateway route section, define the route:

  • Select a profile to be associated with this route.
  • Enter regular expressions for the Incoming called party and calling party fields.
  • Enter regular expressions for the Outgoing called party and calling party fields.

Click Add.

The Vision Console adds the new rule to the bottom of the routing table.

If a syntax error occurs in the new routing rule, the Vision Console displays an error message. Correct the rule, and click OK.

If necessary, reposition the new route to establish its correct priority relative to the other routing rules. To do this, select the route and click the up or down arrow at the bottom of the table until the route is in the correct position.

Modifying a routing rule

To modify a routing rule, follow these steps:

Click Gateway routes in the Provisioning menu.

The Call routing table page appears.

Click on a routing rule and modify this rule as necessary.

Click Update to apply the changes to this rule.

If necessary, reposition the updated route to establish its correct priority relative to the other routing rules. To do this, select the route and click the up or down arrow at the bottom of the table until the route is in the correct position.

Repeat Steps 3-5 to modify additional routing rules as necessary.

Deleting a routing rule

To delete a routing rule, follow these steps:

Click Gateway routes in the Provisioning menu.

The Call routing table page appears.

Click Remove next to the routing rule you want to delete.

A confirmation message appears.

Click OK.

The Vision Console removes the routing rule from the routing table.

Reordering routing rules

To reorder routing rules, follow these steps:

Click Gateway routes in the Provisioning menu.

The Call routing table page appears.

Click on the routing rule you want to move.

Click the up or down arrow at the bottom of the routing table to move the routing rule to a new position.

Repeat Steps 3 - 4 until the routing table contains the desired route order.
