DATAKINETICS SPCI4/0E SS7 4 PORTS

  • Hello. Is board DATAKINETICS SPCI4/0E SS7 4 PORTS  same as Dialogic SPCI4? Can I use SW, licenses, drivers, documentation, etc of board Dialogic SPCI4  from your site for my Datakinetics?

  • it is the same. although i am not sure the license button will work with dialogic software.

you should try it and if you need a new license button drop me an email.

    Franck

  • Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I forgot to inform that this board produced 2001. This year is written on board. I need to use this board for LBS solution other words I need new licenses for MAP. Preliminary can I begin SW development of this Datakinetics in trial mode? Can I use this old board with new OS or I will be restricted in my choise of OS?

  • Hi Franck,

I have Datakinetics board with the license button XX. What set of protocols is allowed by this XX license button? How can I check interworking of this button and Dialogic's software? Please advice me шт detail, because it is my the first experience with Dialogic's SS7 board.

  • Dialogic marks their button code as following:

    MM SS7SBPCIMONQ Monitoring 4
    M3 SS7SBPCIMTPQ MTP 4
    T1 SS7SBPCIISTUPSQ ISUP, TUP (Small) 2
    T2 SS7SBPCIISTUPQ ISUP, TUP (Regular) 4
    T4 SS7SBPCIISTUPLQ ISUP, TUP (Large) 4

any case if you need MAP, you will have to run only MTP on the board and then SCCP, TCAP and MAP in the host.

the simpliest way to start programming is to run those stacks on top of M3UA (without board) in trial mode.

it will give you the full functionality for one hour.

    -Franck.

  • But I don't see code XX in your list of button codes. What is it?

I agree with you about sigtran stack for MAP, but I need to get universal system with a possibility to connect via sigtran and TDM.

  • then try to run your board with MTP only.

if it doesn't work you can get an SS7LD board it's not expensive.

  • Need I to write running MTP2 and MTP3    * Configure individual boards:
                                                                            * SS7_BOARD <board_id> <board_type> <flags> <code_file> <run_mode>
                                                                               SS7_BOARD 0 SPCI4 0x0043  ss7.dc3  MTP

    in config.txt only?

Where can I find description of sets of "Boot switch", which is in board? What is set i need me?

  • yes

    SS7_BOARD 0 SPCI4 0x0043 ss7.dc3 MTP3

    the system.txt should run ssds

you can send me the files for review at fmalka@modulo.co.il if you want

  • The XX licence button is from a server product where the board is bundled with a server and software. I don't think you're going to get the XX licence button working with a host based development package.

  • Hi. Yes, I found information about XX license button as well. It is the button of board of servers. I tried to start up my board with XX license button undeer Linux OS. Driver is installed correctly - messages in DMESG is OK, but after starting gctload -d, I don't see any message about checking the licence of MTP level of license button (see below)

    What is a problem?

  • I think you've got three initial problems here

    1) Some processes are not starting correctly as reported by the gctload output. Review the FORK_PROCESS entries in system.txt and ensure they are pointing to executable binaries.

    2) The licence check is not going to be reported in the gctload output as this is just the setup of the underlying messaging environment. If you review the output of s7_mgt with the -d option you will probably get a clearer picture of the configuration failure.

    3) The XX licence button is not going to work with the standard DPK. You will require a new licence button or install the board to run with the original server software.

  • Thanks for your feedback. But I downoaded server software  for linux DSI DevPak for Linux from Dialogic's site. I made mistake? Is it no original server software?

Other words, how can I build server with board SPCI4 with XX license button? Can I download full set of software for that from Dialogic site?

  • No problem.

The xx licence button is shipped with SPCI boards as part of the  SS7G21, SIU520 and SG430 server products (closed box server products). At some point the board/licence must have been removed from that original server.

The xx licence will not work with the software (DSI DevPak for Linux) you have downloaded. It either needs to be installed in a SS7G21, SIU520, SG430 or an alternative licence button is required. I expect you will need to contact sales and negotiate an alternative licence / product unless you are still able to deploy the original server product.
