Hi,

I have a problem attempting to configure an SS7HDP signaling board in order to use one of the ports to monitor an SS7 signaling link.

We are trying to test this configuration in our lab configuring a link between LIU 0 and LIU 1 (with an E1 crossover cable), and setting LIU 3 in HiZ mode in order to be used as the monitoring port for the link.


The physical connections were made as described below:

All other pins are connected straight.


The problem I have is as follows:

 - If LIU 3 cable is disconnected, the signaling link between LIU 0 and LIU 1 can be put in service without problem, just starting gctload and activating it with MTPSL command.
 - When the cable is connected to LIU 3 the signaling link automatically goes OUT OF SERVICE.
 - If I wire only pins 1 and 2 (Rx- and Rx+) in the cable used for monitoring (and leaving Tx- and Tx+ disconnected), the link continues working when the cable is connected in LIU 3 but I didn't receive any messages in the configured monitor application.

The monitor application is a simple log application that waits for a message for the destination 0x7d and writes an entry in a txt file.


Is this configuration correct?
Is there some problem with the pinout I'm using for the physical connections?
