Network Communications Provider Presenting Insider WebRTC Knowledge and Guidance for Developer and Carrier Attendees

Parsippany, N.J. – Dec. 5, 2013Dialogic Inc., the Network Fuel® company, today announced that its Senior Director of Product Marketing, Chad Hart, is presenting a session at the WebRTC Exhibition & Conference 2013 in Paris to discuss the best practices and strategies for service providers to leverage their networks and prepare for the wave of WebRTC applications. In addition, Dialogic will showcase a live WebRTC demo with partners Gintel and TeleStax, allowing visitors to witness real-world collaboration and peer-to-peer or multi-party communication scenarios.

What

WebRTC is inspiring new features, applications and services in the minds of developers around the world. It is extending real-time communications applications into new industries, such as education, healthcare and entertainment, to name a few. While the WebRTC movement has already begun to simplify communications application development, there are still many real-world challenges implementers must overcome as they create new applications and add WebRTC to their existing networks and solutions. The session, “WebRTC Best Practices” will discuss real-world experiences and best practices for implementing WebRTC successfully, including how to:

  • Implement WebRTC security, signaling and media interoperability with existing networks;
  • Enable browser-based rich communication, including “click to call”;
  • Upgrade existing contact centers with video for a superior customer experience with WebRTC; and
  • Effectively support multi-party conferencing applications in critical environments.

Attendees will witness WebRTC users record and play a video file, enable multimedia collaboration and dynamic call layouts showing up to nine participant tiles for video conferencing, and execute WebRTC to SIP interworking in a video call placed from a WebRTC-enabled browser to a SIP phone, all coordinated on Dialogic’s PowerMedia™ XMS over WLAN and Ethernet.

Additionally, conference attendees can witness a live WebRTC demo from Dialogic and its partners Gintel and TeleStax at booth number two of the exhibition hall. Gintel will be demonstrating its flagship hosted enterprise cloud-based unified communications (UC) and switchboard offering. The technology, leveraging support from Dialogic’s PowerMedia XMS Release 2.1 and TeleStax/Mobicent’s SIP server, is WebRTC-enabled and extends video-to-enterprise call scenarios and supports call recording, voice and video mail, conferencing and transfers. Inbound call distribution features are augmented with video support, which ensures the right agent receives the right call on the correct device.

Who

Dialogic is working with service providers and application developers to execute new WebRTC practices for rich multimedia communications following the release of its WebRTC Impact Survey, which revealed that 87 percent of respondents see WebRTC as part of their product roadmaps. Hart is a popular and respected WebRTC expert with more than 15 years of industry experience. He also blogs about WebRTC at http://webrtcHacks.com and at the Dialogic Exchange Network corporate blog at http:/dialogic.com/den/blogs/corporate/.

Why

According to Disruptive Analysis, more than 4 billion devices will support WebRTC by 2016, creating tremendous potential reach for communications applications. This volume of WebRTC-ready endpoints, paired with the WebRTC’s web-oriented application programming interfaces (API) and burgeoning developer ecosystem, beckons for disruption in network communications. Despite the opportunity, many challenges remain in WebRTC’s standardization and implementation, particularly for media-oriented applications, for WebRTC to reach its true potential.
