Increased Flexibility and Reduced Operating Costs Make Helix the Standout for 4G Roaming Services

Parsippany, NJ, February 25, 2015 - Dialogic, a global networking software and infrastructure solution provider, recently announced that DOCOMO PACIFIC has selected Dialogic’s BorderNet™ Diameter Services Helix to help enable its 4G/LTE roaming services. The BorderNet Helix, a next generation Diameter Signaling Controller (DSC), will provide Diameter Edge Agent (DEA) capabilities to help DOCOMO PACIFIC secure its critical Evolved Packet Core (EPC) infrastructure, improve operational flexibility and help reduce ongoing operational costs in providing 4G roaming services.

DOCOMO PACIFIC, a provider of 4G LTE services in Guam, will utilize Helix’s advanced GUI-based signaling mediation capability to rapidly interwork network elements within its EPC. “Helix is going to help us easily overcome the technical issues associated with roaming interconnection and reduce the complexity, cost and time in setting up roaming agreements with our partners,” said Atsunori Kubota, Chief Technology Officer for DOCOMO PACIFIC.  “By deploying a next generation DSC like Helix, we’ll be able to eliminate the expense of hosted DEA approaches with our roaming hub providers, expand our number of roaming partners, and increase our flexibility by immediately enabling us to support our future Diameter routing.”

Helix uniquely integrates multiprotocol interworking functionality, DEA, and Diameter Routing Agent features within an intuitive signaling orchestration framework that allows service providers to rapidly interwork and enhance services across 3G, 4G/LTE, IMS/VoLTE, and Wi-Fi networks.

“We’re excited to be a mission critical solution provider in DOCOMO PACIFIC’s 4G roaming strategy,” said Jim Machi, senior vice president of marketing and product management for Dialogic. “The flexibility of our next generation BorderNet Helix platform addresses multiple current use cases while also being designed with the future well in mind, making it attractive for any operator looking for a rapid pay-back on its DSC investment.”
