The Media Resource Function Controller is a component in the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The Media Resource Function (see MRF) is made up of two components, which are the Media Resource Function Controller and the Media Resource Function Processor.
MRFC is the element responsible for taking SIP requests from the application server and is responsible for managing media resources by interpreting the information coming from an AS and S-CSCF to control the MRFP.
