Internet Protocol (IP)

Internet Protocol (IP) is the language that computers use to communicate over the Internet. IP deals only with packets, and defines how computers and other devices send those packets of data to each other. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) enables two hosts to establish a connection in order to exchange the packets of data.

TCP/IP is a set of rules (protocols) governing communications among all computers and other devices on the Internet.
