IP Call Control Module Specific Settings
Local IP Address:
[h323_local_ip_address] This parameter specifies the transport address of the H.323 terminal. The transport address can be an IP address or a combination of the IP address and the port number that the H.323 call control stack uses. When set to the default value (0.0.0.0), the system uses the IP address of the first Ethernet module in the system and port number 1720. This parameter is ignored when the parameter IP Interface For H.323 [h323_ip_interface] is set.
Maximum H.323 Sessions:
[h323_max_sessions] This parameter specifies the maximum number of concurrent H.323 calls that the host module can support at one time. Set this value to a number that at least doubles the number of channels in the system because the system can be tearing down a call while processing the next call.
Primary Gateway:
[h323_default_gateway] This parameter specifies the IP address of a default gateway to use for outbound calls. If a user only specifies a phone number when making an H.323 call and the application is not using an H.323 gatekeeper, the API forwards the call to the gateway specified with this parameter. The API forwards the specified phone number to the gateway for routing purposes. When set, this parameter must contain an IP address in the form: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:PortNumber. For the H323 protocol, the port defaults to 1720 if set to 0. The API does not use this parameter if the configuration file specifies a value of 1 for the h323_register parameter.
Register with a Gatekeeper:
[h323_register] The parameter specifies if the registration with H.323 Gatekeeper is Enabled or Disabled.
Gatekeeper ID:
[h323_gatekeeper_id] This parameter specifies the ID of the H.323 gatekeeper that the H.323 terminal expects to find during the gatekeeper discovery routine. If you do not set this parameter, the H.323 terminal attempts to register with the first gatekeeper it finds.
Primary Gatekeeper:
[h323_gatekeeper_ip_address] This parameter specifies the IP address of the first H.323 gatekeeper that receives the registration request from the H.323 terminal. When set, this parameter must contain an IP address in the form: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:PortNumber. When all h323_gatekeeper_ip_address parameters are set to the default value (0.0.0.0:0), the H.323 terminal performs a multicast gatekeeper discovery routine to find the gatekeeper using port number 1719.
Gatekeeper Time To Live:
[h323_gatekeeper_ttl] This parameter specifies the number of seconds to allow between registration request messages sent from the H.323 terminal to the gatekeeper. After reaching this limit, the H.323 terminal generates another registration request to the gatekeeper because the system now considers the previous request invalid.
Support Alternate Gatekeepers:
[h323_support_alternate_gk] This parameter specifies whether to support alternate gatekeepers. The gatekeeper receiving the registration request from the H.323 terminal must also support alternate gatekeepers. When the H.323 terminal sends a registration request to its primary gatekeeper, the primary gatekeeper sends the H.323 terminal a list of alternate gatekeepers that it knows about. If, for some reason, the H.323 terminal can no longer communicate with its primary gatekeeper, it goes through this list of alternate gatekeepers and attempts to register with one of them. When the system does not support alternate gatekeepers and the H.323 terminal can no longer communicate with its primary gatekeeper, the H.323 terminal goes through the multicast gatekeeper discovery routine to find an available gatekeeper.
E.164 Aliases:
[h323_e164alias] This parameter specifies the E.164 alias of the H.323 terminal. The system uses this alias during gatekeeper registration and call establishment. The alias identifies the phone number of the H.323 terminal. You can specify multiple aliases, each starting on a new line. When you specify multiple values, the system registers every value with the gatekeeper.
Local H.323 terminal ID:
[h323_h323IDalias] This parameter specifies the H.323 ID of the H.323 terminal. The system uses this alias during gatekeeper registration and call establishment. The alias identifies the name of the H.323 terminal. You can specify multiple aliases, each starting on a new line. When you specify multiple values, the system registers every value with the gatekeeper.
Backup Gatekeeper #1:
[h323_gatekeeper_ip_address2] This parameter specifies the IP address of the second H.323 gatekeeper that receives the registration request from the H.323 terminal.
Backup Gatekeeper #2:
[h323_gatekeeper_ip_address3] This parameter specifies the IP address of the third H.323 gatekeeper that receives the registration request from the H.323 terminal.
Backup Gatekeeper #3:
[h323_gatekeeper_ip_address4] This parameter specifies the IP address of the fourth H.323 gatekeeper that receives the registration request from the H.323 terminal.
Backup Gatekeeper #4:
[h323_gatekeeper_ip_address5] This parameter specifies the IP address of the fifth H.323 gatekeeper that receives the registration request from the H.323 terminal.
Backup Gatekeeper #5:
[h323_gatekeeper_ip_address6] This parameter specifies the IP address of the sixth H.323 gatekeeper that receives the registration request from the H.323 terminal.
T.35 Country Code:
[h323_t35CountryCode] This parameter specifies a code identifying the international country that manufactured the H.323 terminal making the call. This code allows other H.323 terminals to know the origin of the H.323 terminal. The ITU-T Recommendation T35 Annex A lists the country codes used for H.323 Non-Standard Facilities (NSF).
T.35 Country Code Modifier:
[h323_t35Extension] This parameter specifies a modifier for the country code of the vendor’s H.323 terminal making the call. If the T.35 country code is defined as hexadecimal FF, this extension value defines a two-byte manufacturer country code.
Manufacturer Code:
[h323_ManufacturerCode] This parameter specifies a code that identifies the manufacturer of the H.323 terminal making the call. 48 is the H.323 manufacturer code for Dialogic Corporation.
Name of Manufacturer:
[h323_Manufacturer] This parameter specifies a string naming the H.323 terminal’s manufacturer. A maximum of 256 characters can be specified.
Advanced Settings
Enable H.323 Tunneling:
[h323_h245Tunneling] Defines if H.323 tunneling is enabled or not. H.245 tunneling allows H.245 messages to be sent over the same IP address and port as H.225 messages. If tunneling is disabled, a new IP address and port specifically for H.245 messages will be established. Not all terminal endpoints support H.245 tunneling.
Enable Fast Start:
[h323_FastStart] Determines outbound H.323 fast start call setup. If set to 1, outbound calls use H.323 fast start call setup. If set to 0, outbound calls use H.323 slow start call setup. On inbound calls, h323_FastStart parameter is ignored and both H.323 fast start and slow start call setup will be accepted.
OLC Reject Response Timeout:
[h323_OlcRejectResponseTimeout] Controls how a master endpoint will handle OLC conflict from a slave peer. A value of -1 will cause master endpoint to send an OLC reject and wait for peer slave to send non-conflicting OLC. A value of 0 will cause master endpoint to send RequestMode to peer slave. A value of 1 to 10000 is a duration in milliseconds to wait after sending OLC reject before sending RequestMode. If the master endpoint receives a non-conflicting OLC before the timeout period expires, RequestMode is not sent.
Called Party Options:
[h323_CalledPartyOption] Controls what fields in the H.225 SETUP message are returned as part of the called party number. The fields in SETUP used for called party number are: destination call signaling address, destination address, called party subaddress, called party extension (H.323 ID or E.164), called party number and destination extra call information. The allowable values are as follows:
0 - Returns all H.225 SETUP fields described above if present.
1 - Same as 0 except destination call signaling address is removed if present.
2 - Only called party number is returned.
Option for sending H.245 Address:
[h323_H245Stage] The stage at which the local endpoint is allowed to transfer the H.245 address to the remote endpoint. This parameter is only in effect when H.245 tunneling is disabled. Refer to the h323_h245Tunneling parameter. The allowable values are as follows:
0 - Earliest H.245 possible can send and act on addresses in all messages.
1 - Can send the address in the Call Proceeding message.
2 - Can send the address only in the Alerting message.
3 - Wait for the Connect message.
4 - Early H.245 sends addresses in Setup and Connect messages only.
5 - No automatic sending of the address.
6 - No support for H.245 and the NoH245 Facility message is sent.
Override Numbering Plan:
[h323_OverrideNumberingPlan] Manually overrides the numbering plan value used in the Q.931 called party number information element. The allowable values are as follows:
-1 - Don't override.
0 to 15 - Numbering plan value.
Override Numbering Type:
[h323_OverrideNumberingType] Manually overrides the numbering type value used in the Q.931 called party number information element. The allowable values are as follows:
-1 - Don't override.
0 to 7 - Numbering type value.
RAS Terminal Type:
[h323_RasTerminalType] Defines the terminal type sent as part of the RAS RRQ request. The possible options are 0 for terminal and 1 for gateway. The default is 0, register as a terminal endpoint
E.164 Aliases for RAS:
[h323_RasVoiceSupportedPrefixesE164] Defines a list of E.164 prefixes by which other endpoints may identify this endpoint. This parameter is only used when the h323_RasTerminalType field is set to 1 or gateway. You can specify multiple supported prefixes values, each starting on a new line. When you specify multiple values, the system registers every value with the gatekeeper.
Wait For Connect Before Sending Media:
[h323_MediaWaitForConnect] If TRUE, indicates that the recipient of the Setup message shall not transmit media until sending the connect message. This setting controls the value of the Setup message mediaWaitForConnect flag.
Calling Party Options:
[h323_CallingPartyOption] Controls what fields in the H.225 SETUP message are returned as part of the calling party number. The allowable values are as follows:
0 - Returns all H.225 SETUP fields.
1 - Removes the transport address if present.
2 - Only the calling party phone number is returned if present.
IP Interface For H.323:
[h323_ip_interface] This parameter sets the IP interface that should be used for call control. When left blank the parameter Local IP Address [h323_local_ip_address] will be used. When set the parameter Local IP Address [h323_local_ip_address] will be ignored.
IP Interface Port:
[h323_ip_interface_port] This parameter sets the port that should be used for call control. This parameter is used when the parameter IP interface [h323_ip_interface] has been set.
