Course Overview

The Dialogic® IMG Integrated Media Gateway Training course provides a solid understanding of how to support the Dialogic® IMG Integrated Media Gateway. The course addresses IMG hardware components, software architecture and software features. The course also provides a working knowledge of the Dialogic® Gate Control Element Management System (GCEMS). Attendees perform hands-on lab exercises to configure, monitor, provision and troubleshoot the IMG.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe IMG features, hardware components and software architecture
  • Understand software features, including SS7 redundancy
  • Describe GCEMS architecture, features and log files
  • Install and set-up GCEMS
  • Initialize the IMG and download system software
  • Create an IMG configuration using ClientView
  • Perform IMG monitoring and provisioning tasks using ClientView and EventView
  • Troubleshoot IMG configuration problems using validation report and call tracing
  • Perform IMG 1010 hardware maintenance

Required Preparation

Experience providing customer support on circuit and packet switching equipment in a live network environment is required. Detailed knowledge of SS7, ISDN, SIP, H.323, and RTP protocols is required.

*There may be additional lab time for any labs not already completed or for specific network/signaling scenarios requested by customers.  Depending on interest of customers, some topics are not covered in same amount of detail. If this happens, it allows time to cover “extras”. When enrolling for a class, let us know what interests you most.

NOTE: For specific network/signaling scenarios to be covered, the details must be submitted in writing prior to start of class.  For example: SNMP demonstration or setting up IMG 1004 using SD card for software are instructor demonstrations not usually covered but can be added, time permitting.
