              Eiconcard Development Suite 4.2


Introduction
==========================================================================

These Readme Notes provide an overview of the contents of the Eiconcard(r)
Development Suite.

These Readme Notes are organized as follows:

o Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools
o Frame Relay Development (Interface Specification)
o HDLC Development (Interface Specification)
o ISDN Dialer
o Winsock
o Developer Support Programs


Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools
==========================================================================

This release of the Eiconcard Development Suite includes an X.25 Library
for the following operating systems: Linux(r), and Windows(r) 2000, XP (32 and 64 bit) 2003 (32 and 64 bit).
These Development Tools provide developers with a 'C' programming
interface to the X.25 protocol provided by the Eiconcard communication
adapter.

To install and use the Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools, refer to the
Readme.txt file located in the following directories:

ECTESTER Application 
--------------------
The Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools includes an Eiconcard testing
application that checks if your Eiconcard is correctly installed and
configured, by allowing the user to perform three different tests.

- Test the connection to an X.25 network
- Test a back-to-back X.25 connection
- Test the HDLC link level for a specific port

To use ECTester, refer to the following file:

Linux			/opt/dialogic/c4l/dev_tools/x25/utilities/ectester/readme.txt

Note that these tools are only provided for 32-bit platforms.


Online Documentation
--------------------
A programmer's reference guide is provided for function descriptions and
other specific development information for use with the X.25 library. It is
available in two different formats: Microsoft(r) Windows compiled html format
(ex25.chm) and in HTML format (index.htm).

These files are located on the Eiconcard Develoment Suite CD, in the
following directories:

Each operating system version of the Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools
found on the Eiconcard Development Suite, has a set of samples to help
developers. Refer to the Readme Notes (Readme.txt) specific to each
supported operating system version of the Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools
for more information.


Linux **Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools for Linux**
----------------------------------------------------
The Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools for Linux, can be found in the
X25\Linux directory. All the necessary information and tools are
included in the X25\Linux directory. Please refer to the Readme.txt
file in the X25\Linux directory for complete information about the
Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools for Linux.

Win32 **Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools for Win32**
----------------------------------------------------
The Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools for Win32, can be found in the
X25\Win32 directory. All the necessary information and tools are
included in the X25\Win32 directory.  Note that Win32 in this 
case refers to the Microsoft Win32 API. However, all samples can be
compiled for 64 bit systems.  Please refer to the Readme.txt
file in the X25\Win32 directory for complete information about the
Eiconcard X.25 Development Tools for Windows.


Frame Relay Development (Interface Specification)
==========================================================================

The Eiconcard Development Suite contains all the tools and information
necessary to develop a Frame Relay Interface application that uses
the Eiconcard communication adapter.

The \Frame Relay directory of the Eiconcard Development Suite includes all
the pertinent details. Please refer to the Readme.txt file in the \Frame Relay
directory for complete information about Frame Relay development.


HDLC Development (Interface Specification)
==========================================================================

The Eiconcard Development Suite contains all the tools and information
necessary to develop an HDLC Interface application that uses the
Eiconcard communication adapter.

The \Hdlc directory of the Eiconcard Development Suite includes all
the pertinent details. Please refer to the Readme.txt file in the \Hdlc
directory for complete information about HDLC development.


ISDN Dialer
==========================================================================

The Eiconcard Development Suite includes an ISDN Dialer Library
(ECISDNUM.DLL). This is a dialer tool that allows an application to change
the ISDN Remote Number on ISDN-compatible Eiconcard ports.

The \Isdndial directory of the Eiconcard Development Suite includes
all the pertinent details. Please refer to the Readme.txt file in the
\Isdndial directory for complete information. Note that the ISDN Dialer
Library is only provided for 32 bit systems.


Winsock
==========================================================================

The Eiconcard Development Suite includes documentation and samples for
writing Windows sockets based X.25 applications for the Eiconcard.

The \Winsock directory of the Eiconcard Development Suite includes all
the pertinent details. Please refer to the Readme.txt file in the \Winsock
directory for complete information about Winsock development.
