Domain Name System (DNS)

DNS is a protocol within a set of standards, known as the TCP/IP protocol suite, which define how computers exchange data on the Internet and private networks. Its basic job is to turn an Internet Protocol (IP) hex address (234.234.234.1), which computers use to identify each other on the network, into human friendly phrases such as Dialogic.com.
