Before installing the VisionVideo QCS software, be sure to adhere to the requirements described in System Requirements.
This installation procedure assumes that you have placed the MySQL RPM packages in the /tmp directory as described in Third-Party Software Requirements.
Note: If you have already installed the MySQL software and set a secure password, the QCS installation script will prompt you for the existing password.
After obtaining the VisionVideo QCS software, use the following procedure to install it:
Log in to the server as root.
Execute the QCS
installation binary file at the command line, where
x represents the version
number of the QCS software:
sh visionvideo-qcs-x.bin
Several messages are displayed showing the installation of the MySQL software. You are prompted for the password of the MySQL database. Enter this password.
Several more messages are displayed showing the installation progress. Ultimately, the QCS software is installed in /opt/visionvideo and the related QCS documentation is installed in /opt/visionvideo/doc.
After the QCS software installation is complete, you are prompted to log off and log in again.
